Reflection have just completed 10 years of existence in the scene, since they exist from September of 1991. After 2 demos ("Before The End" and "When Immortals... Die!"), one 7" EP ("Sire Of The Storm" in '95) and the 2 new CDs (the split with Inner Wish and this one) they are still devoting themselves on epic heavy metal paths that band like Wasp, Twisted Sister, Manowar, Candlemass and Warlord had set. The band's lineup remains the same the last 3 years and the band is active as never mainly underground, performing live lots of times and achieving higher technical and composing skills as time goes.

This current release is an anthology of theirs featuring their best tunes re-recorded in order to have a high sound quality using the latest technology. So, since is like a best of, must be a great one. Tunes like the medieval "Burn The Witch" (with the intro in Greek), the catchy and fast "Before The End" (what a riff!), the long epic masterpiece "Children Of War", the pushing mid-tempo "Fire And Steel" and of course the mega-hit shivering "When Immortals... Die!" are enough in order to place the rating to the top grades. Solid rhythm section, mature song substructures with pleasant variety to all instruments and especially drums which create the background slow, mid or fast paced. Excellent passages, exceptional guitar solos, multi-performed choirs, great sound effects. Reflection is one of the very few bands around that do have variety and talented composing abilities, passion and power, epic and heaviness in a unique way. Is amazing how the drums can be played this way... is really hard to change without the listener is able to know easily, is really hard to change drumming tunes so many times in one song, requires too damn many hours of hard practicing. The vocals are very good ones, but I think they can achieve a higher level of improvement.

Production could get a bit better, since vocals should sound more in the foreground and don't have that quite decreased opacity. However, this is a detail that none of you will notice. The cover art is made by George Zacharoglou (Dream Weaver) and looks very nice.

In conclusion, we have a totally professional work from Reflection and Secret Port Records, that you must get if you are a fan of the traditional epic/heavy in the veins of the bands reported above. Can't wait for their forthcoming studio album entitled "Odyssey"....
