This is the third album from Reflection, a Greek band I had never heard of before. I'm not sure what I was expecting from the packaging, but they were on Cruz Del Sur, so they at least get a listen. Imagine my surprise when I found this was Hellenic True Metal in a very epic vein, much more old-fashioned than I had expected.

Overall this is roughly similar to other epic styled bands like Wotan, Sacred Blood, or Dantesco. Reflection specialize in heavy riffs, big songs, and complex vocal melodies. There's nothing immediately catchy about this, and at first spin I was unimpressed. But Epic Metal is often demanding, taking more listens to really get into it, so I gave this more time, and on about the third spin it opened up and I started to really dig it. This is not genre-defining or anything, but it is a good, solid album that very much reminds me of Dantesco's Pagano. I have read other reviews that bitch about vocalist Leo Stivala, but I don't see what's wrong with him. He's not the best singer ever, but he does fine here.
